The Problem

The increasing use of lithium-ion batteries, powering everything from personal devices to electric vehicles (EVs) and home energy storage, presents a growing fire risk due to the potential for thermal runaway. This risk is amplified by the rapid growth of EVs, with global sales reaching 20 million in 2024. With more EVs parked in home garages, the fire hazard in residential settings increases. Current safety measures often fail to detect early signs of battery malfunction, posing significant dangers.

The Solution

We developed Ionsniff, the world’s best lithium-ion leak detection system. Once our sensor detects a lithium cell leak, it promptly sounds an alarm, alerting all those on the premises to follow the proper safety procedures and prevent the danger.

How It Works

Our scientists developed a lithium leakage fingerprint that is consistent across all lithium batteries and can be detected prior to fire starting. Our proprietary fingerprint uses a blend of air quality sensors to ensure that we never miss a dangerous event while eliminating all false positives.

Has It Been Lab Tested?

Yes! Our solution has been verified by lab tests. We placed our sensors in chambers and initiated lithium-ion cell leakage to verify our sensor’s ability to detect leakage in its early stages and alert promptly.

Unseen Threats: Battery Detection Saves Lives

The increasing use of lithium-ion batteries, especially in EVs, poses a growing fire risk from thermal runaway, a danger often undetected by current safety measures. IonSniff addresses this with a proprietary lithium leak detection system, using a blend of air quality sensors to promptly alert users to potential battery failures before a fire starts. Lab-tested and proven, IonSniff offers critical early warning to prevent dangerous events.
